Robert Hemphill, DMD
Dr. Robert Hemphill received his Bachelor of Arts from Albion College in 1997. He furthered his education and completed a Masters in Health Administration at Grand Valley State University. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University followed by a General Practice Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Dr. Melaura Preston
Dentist
Dr. Melaura Preston is a kind and attentive general dentist serving the greater Hartford area. Dr. Preston graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA 15 years ago and since day one has continually succeeded in being a dentist who connects with her patients by delivering personalized and compassionate care. Providing full-scale dentistry from routine to complex cases, she also has extensive experience treating fearful and apprehensive patients and more than 6 years of experience treating children. When not in the office Dr. Preston can be found on a boat, on the ski slopes, hiking a snowy peak, making new recipes with family and friends, or walking in the rain. You’ll notice immediately with Dr. Preston that she has a unique touch that makes your dental care enjoyable. Her sincerity and sweet sense of humor along with a dedication to high quality dentistry makes you look forward to every visit.

Kim
Office Manager
Kim comes to West Hill Family Dental with over 30 years experience in the dental field. She began her career as a dental assistant and worked her way to the front office. She received her certification in dental office management in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is passionate about dentistry and her experience allows her to maximize insurance and help provide the financing opportunities to allow patients to obtain the beautiful healthy smiles they deserve. Kim resides in Middlefield with her husband Joe. Her interests include spending time with family, travel, and anything to do with the beach.
Monica
Insurance Coodinator
Monica was born and raised in Hartford, CT. She graduated from A I Prince Tech Dental Assisting program in 2002. She began her career as a dental assistant and has expanded her duties to include the administrative side of dentistry. She was inspired to enter the field by her late grandmother and has been doing so ever since. She is a mother of two daughters, China and Brook’Lyn. While dedicating her days to quality patient care and education, she dedicates her life to supporting and raising her children. Although family is her focus she enjoys reading, writing and traveling.
Melissa
Hygienist
Melissa obtained her degree in Dental Hygiene at Tunxis Community College in 2014. She is certified in local anesthesia and completes most of the scaling and root planing in the office. She is a team-oriented, dynamic leader who is highly skilled in scaling and root planing, soft tissue management and placing pit and fissure sealants. She is enthusiastic about dentistry and focuses on building trust in order to support long-term relationships with all patients. She believes that prevention and education are paramount for patient health. When she is not at work, she spends most of her time with family and her dog, Paddy. She loves to cook, travel and relax by the beach.
Lizzy
Hygienist
Lizzy graduated from Tunxis Community College with her degree in Dental Hygiene in 2022. She joined the West Hill Family team right after graduation. Lizzy is super grateful to be a part of such an amazing organization. At West Hill Family Dental, we’re like a family; we truly enjoy each other’s company and the office atmosphere. She is passionate about educating her patients and takes the time to explain and review the needs of each individual. She loves meeting new people and creating long-term relationships to make their experience fun and comfortable. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with family, read, and watch Marvel movies! Lizzy definitely lies to stay busy as she also enjoys teaching dance and educating future dental hygienists.
Brooke
Hygienist
Brooke graduated from an accredited dental assistant program through New England Teaching Institute. Her favorite aspect of her job is making people feel comfortable and doing her best to assure they have a positive experience. She enjoys the variety of procedures done in general dentistry, and finds it rewarding to see how happy patients are with the treatment they receive. She is thrilled to be on a great team at West Hill Family Dental. When she isn’t at our office, she is a dance instructor for kids and a professional dancer. She loves spending time with her family, friends and her dog in her spare time.
Julita
Dental Coodinator
Julita is a remote team member who lives in Harare, Zimbabwe. She obtained her Dual Honors degree in Business Management and Information Technology from the Catholic University of Zimbabwe in 2018. Julita is our newest team member whose focus is administrative but she constantly looks for ways to streamline efficiency in the office. Her favorite part of the day is liaising with patients and bringing smiles to their faces before they come to the office. Outside of work, Julita loves traveling with her husband Menard , trying new recipes in the kitchen and enjoying a good television show.
